QUESTION: What pressure is the boat certified to handle and what pressure should I fill the boat up to.

ANSWER:     The tubes and keel are certified to 3.6PSI. The high pressure air floor is certified to 10.2 PSI. We recommend filling the hi pressure air floor to 9.5PSI which has shown to be sufficient. Also, you may want to fill the keel to 2.8 PSI and if you need more then fill to 3.6 PSI.

QUESTION: How much pressure does the hi pressure air floor handle and what features makes them superior?

ANSWER:     Our Hi Pressure Air Floors are rated to 10.2 PSI (although we recommend that 9.5PSI as a sufficient rate). These floors are specially made with thousands of integrated criss-cross fibers.  See our specification page so that you can see for yourself the advanced technology we employ in the design and manufacturing of these advanced Hi Pressure floors. When appropriately inflated these floors will be strong and solid and provide for an incredible superior ride.

QUESTION: Are the Aqua Max boat seams glued or welded and what is best?

ANSWER:     Until the long term performance of welded joints is proven we only use  urethane glue that chemically welds the fabric together.  If you try to force the glued seams apart, the fabric will generally tear before the seam would come apart.  You can’t get any better than that.

QUESTION:   How long will the Aqua Max Boat last?

ANSWER:     Aqua Max boats will last for many years of enjoyable use. It comes with a warranty for 5 years (see warranty) but with proper maintenance use it will last many more years than that. The exact time depends upon how well you maintain it.  A proper UV protector (available at any boat supply store or online store) should be used on a regular basis and if the boat is going to be left outside, it should be properly covered.

QUESTION: How do Aqua Max Boats compare to other famous name brand boats?

ANSWER:     Aqua Max boats are made of the same quality materials as many famous expensive brand name quality inflatable boats. The workmanship is the same as many of these expensive quality brand name boats. However, we do not have expensive marketing and advertising and we do not have a large network of dealers and wholesalers who then have to add to the price so they too can profit. So, Aqua Max factory direct eliminates the many costs associated with wholesalers, dealers and expensive brand name marketing and advertising to bring you quality inflatable boats at a reasonable price.

QUESTION: Which boats are easier to assemble?

ANSWER:     The Aqua Max Hi Pressure air floor boats are less work to inflate and deflate than putting together the plywood floor boat.  However, after putting together the plywood floor boats a few times, it becomes easy, like anything else that is learned.  The larger 14’ boat can be put together by one person, but 2 people are recommended for ease. Although it takes more time to assemble a plywood floor, the solid floor is more stable to stand upon and the ride is better. For boats up to 11 feet, we recommend the air floor over the plywood because the difference is not that significant.  However, for the boat models of 12’ in length or more, we highly recommend only plywood floor boats.  It is our experience from our manufacturer that an air floor for any boat of 12’ or higher simply does not perform as well as a boat should and at that size, the plywood floor is the superior choice.  Remember, all air floors will have flexibility. So, the longer it is the more flexible it will be.  As a general rule, if you plan to inflate/deflate boat often, the air floor will be easier.  If you plan to keep the boat stored and inflated for periods of  1 to 3 weeks at a time, then choose a plywood floor.

QUESTION: What outboard motor can be used on Aqua Max boats?

ANSWER:     Any brand motor is acceptable. We sell Tohatsu and Nissan which are proven reliable motors with industry leading specifications and reviews. Our 7’6” through 14’ foot air or plywood floor boats require the use of a short shaft 15" outboard motor.  Either 2-stroke or 4-stroke engines may be installed on the Aqua Max boat.

QUESTION: What are the maximum hp motors that can be used on Aqua Max Boats?

ANSWER:     The specifications for each model are listed on the webpage for that model or you can see all of them or at our compare models page.  The maximum hp motor will bring the boat on plane when the boat is used with the maximum persons and maximum weight capacity is reached. However, most boats are used with outboard motors with lower hp than maximum. As an example, for our 14’ boat, the most popular motor used is the 20hp.  For the HD1250 models, the most popular motor is the 15hp.  For the smaller air floor models, customers use wide variety of motors depending upon their use.

QUESTION: What is the Aqua Max 1210 Dtex fabric and other fabrics and how strong is the fabric on my inflatable?

ANSWER:     Aqua Max Boats are  made from the finest quality Korean Akronyl 1210 Decitex reinforced (nearly 1mm) thick polymer composite fabric reinforced with Terylene.  It is very hard to puncture with anything less than a sharp knife.  Some manufacturers use 1000 or 1100 Decitex.  However, this does not mean one weights more than the other. Decitex is only a measurement (like inches or feet) and Decitex is the measurement of the width of the strands of the fabric. This fabric is then covered and coated on both sides to make up the 9mm PVC material. Please note that even though one fabric (1210 Dtex) may have thicker strands of fabric it may not be heavier. This can be explained by understanding that some materials heavier materials are weaker than some lighter materials.  For example, with the same size piece of lead compared to the same size piece of steel, the lead is much heavier, but it is much weaker and softer. The lighter steel will be a much harder and stronger material. So, you cannot base any distinction upon weight itself. Rather, it is the thickness of the fabric and type of fabric and material used.

QUESTION: Where can I get an electric hi pressure pump or hand pump with a pressure gauge?

ANSWER:     After examining all of the option, we have selected to offer you the top choices for the best BRAVO electric and manual pumps. Please call for information on our Bravo air pumps which will soon be added to our accessory page. Our Bravo air pumps are the best on the market. We have selected the best models of the electric and manual pumps. The electric pumps are rated to 14 PSI which is more than sufficient to fill up the boats and the high pressure air floor without having to use any hand or foot pump. Better yet, these electric pumps automatically shut off when the proper pressure is reached. Just set the pressure rating on the electric pump for the desired pressure. Please call for our pumps.

QUESTION: Do you recommend hi pressure inflators or electric inflators?

ANSWER:     Yes, we recommend a hi pressure inflator with a pressure gauge be used to inflate any hi pressure air floor boat. Without the gauge you cannot be sure you are getting the correct pressure. Even though it feels tight, most people do not realize just how much pressure this 10.2 PSI air floor can inflate. When inflated to the proper pressure this floor handles substantially better and you will enjoy the boat that much more. So, for the hi pressure air floor boats, a pump with a pressure gauge pump is recommended. The electric inflators make boating simple and enjoyable. Just, attach the electric inflator to any tube, set the pressure, and it automatically inflates to the correct pressure and shits off.   Please call to ask about our pumps.

QUESTION: Can I make any repairs to the boat if I accidently cause a hole?

ANSWER:     It is not easy to put a hole in the boat. But if that does happen it is usually very easy to fix. The repair kit is a standard accessory and comes complete with instruction. You can do most repairs by yourself and the repaired area will then be as good as new.   Also, for major repairs due to accidents there are many repair shops across the country that repairs inflatable boats at reasonable costs. However, with careful ordinary use, your boat should not require repairs.

QUESTION:  How do I maintain the boat for the best use and longest life?

ANSWER:     Keep it properly covered to avoid unnecessary sun exposure when not in use. Applying a good UV protector a few times per year only takes minutes but adds years of life to the boat. The UV protector is available at most online and off line boating supply stores, such as West Marine.  When storing the boat, keep it clean and in a cool, dry place.
